From the Optimist...
to bigger things!
Fraglia Vela Riva has always had competitive juvenile racing teams on the national and international circuits, in particular the Laser and Optimist classes. This is due to an intensive training programme followed over the last few years. One of Fraglia’s primary goals is to build larger and more technically prepared teams year on year. In its history the club has attracted many youngsters to the world of sailing, who have achieved numerous racing awards.
The Optimist, as in the Laser class, has achieved great accolades: Italian Championships, The President’s Cup, The European Team Championships, The Cadet Cup and Primavela are all prizes won by the high achieving Optimist Competitive team and of course the brilliant Cecilia Zorzi who won both the National and World Championships in the juvenile Laser class. All these results give pride and lustre to the Fraglia colours.
Our greatest joy, however, is to see our young Optimists progress to the under 19 and Olympic classes. For many years the athletes of Fraglia Vela Riva have always been represented in the national teams and the technical staff works with determination and dedication to ensure that this continues.
