5th Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda: talking about the 2025 results
Riva del Garda – With a total of eight races completed for both groups – Juniors and Cadets – the fifth edition of the Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda, a major event for the Optimist class, organized by Fraglia Vela Riva and attended by over two hundred and fifty sailors representing fourteen nations, has been archived.
The winners, at the end of a weekend full of sun and competition, were the Peruvian Joaquin Acevedo, capable of winning three races among the two hundred and twenty-eight Juniors and finishing in the top five six times, and the Spaniard Damia Galcera, top performer among the Cadets, where she won without leaving any room for her opponents.
Completing the podiums were, among the Juniors, the German Hubener Henry-Alexander and the American Lin Zou, with Francesco Bo of Fraglia Vela Riva sixth and best Italian, and Irene Faini of Centro Nautico Bardolino eighth and first among the girls. In the Cadet category, two athletes from Fraglia Vela Riva came in second and third: Martino Bertani and Andrea Radaelli; in the women’s category, Viola Corso from Società Triestina Sport del Mare stood out.
During the awards ceremony, a drawing was held for an Optimist produced by Cantiere Navale Faccenda, a leading company for this very popular youth dinghy: luck rewarded Simon Gracz, a member of the Czech Republic team.
With the fifth edition of the Youth Centenary Regatta-Trofeo Faccenda over, attention now shifts to an Interzonale Optimist (March 14-16), which will be followed, towards Easter, by the first edition of the Sprint Cup Rothoblass, the 11th Country Cup and the 43rd Garda Optimist Meeting.
