Andrea Demurtas wins the 11th Country Cup Blue Garden

Andrea Demurtas confirms his extraordinary form by winning, a few days after the success in the first edition of the Rothoblaas Sprint Race and two weeks after the excellent performance provided at the First National Selection of Marina di Ravenna, also the 11th edition of the Country Cup Blue Garden, a regatta that, on the eve of the 43rd Garda Optimist Meeting, saw a sailor representing each of the Nations registered for the symbolic event of the Fraglia Vela Riva compete.

Faced with forty-two opponents over the distance of three races, the “Fragliotto” talent scored a first and two seconds of the day, inflicting a delay of thirteen points on the Puerto Rican Diego Delgado (5-9-4) and nineteen on the Maltese Nathan Montebello (12-6-6), who finished second and third respectively.

At the end of the 11th Country Cup Blue Garden Riva del Garda was the scene of the opening ceremony of the 43rd Garda Optimist Meeting. Led by the Pras Band, a festive and colorful parade, made up of over a thousand people, reached Piazza III Novembre where, in the presence of the Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Riva del Garda, Lorenzo Pozzer, of Marco Torboli of the APT Garda Trentino, of the representative of World Sailing Walter Cavallucci and of the president of the XIV FIV Zone Giampaolo Montagni, the president of Fraglia Vela Riva, Andrea Camin, officially declared the 2025 edition of this great youth sailing festival open.
