End of the qualification at the Garda Lake Opti Meeting: tomorrow the finals
Riva del Garda – After yesterday’s solid day, the 43rd Garda Optimist Meeting encountered a complicated day from a weather point of view, at the end of which the Race Committee led by Giancarlo Crevatin completed a race for all groups, effectively closing the qualification phase with six valid races for the Juniors and five for the Cadets.
The regatta, held with unstable and gusty Ora, did not bring about any upheavals in the rankings: thanks to another first Jesper Karlsen confirmed his lead in the Juniors ranking, where he is followed by two points by Leandro Scialpi and Artur Brighenti while Andrea Demurtas, winner this week of the Rothoblaas Sprint Race and the 11th Blue Garden Country Cup, is fourth three points behind the leader, pursued by the Swede Isak Kaplan. The Danish Freja Vintergaard, the best of the girls currently tenth overall, gained one position.
Among the Cadets, Puerto Rican Lucas Christiansen confirms his lead, extending his stride over James Bentley, now seven points behind, and Viola Vittoria Comi, third and best of the girls with just two points of margin over Vittoria Pagani, fourth.
The 43rd Garda Optimist Meeting will end tomorrow: the last regattas, with the Juniors divided into Gold, Silver, Bronze and Emerald fleets and the cadets in a single fleet, are scheduled to start at 11. The last act will be the awards ceremony, highly attended and scheduled at the PalaVela following the end of the regattas.
