Montesano-Coslovich are the winners of the 29er Eurocup Finals

Riva del Garda – The 29er Eurocup Finals ended in style: the event organized by Fraglia Vela Riva, valid as the final stage of the international circuit of this dynamic two-person dinghy, ended with a great Sunday of sailing.

A solid Peler first, and a punctual Ora later, allowed the Presidents of the Race Committees, Giancarlo Crevatin and Valentina Bravi, to have all the fleets complete a significant number of races, with the Gold Fleet completing four, closing the series with a total of thirteen results and two discards.

Today’s races brought a substantial revolution in the overall ranking of the final stage: Giuseppe Montesano and Enrico Coslovich (today 1-5-3-17) managed to discard the 33 obtained in the second final race and, thanks to three results in the top five, they took full loot by conquering the overall victory, in addition to that reserved for the best Under 17 team.

The duo representing the Circolo della Vela Muggia and the Club Nautico Triestino Sirena anticipated by two points the Polish Antonina Puchowska and Mateus Gasiorewski (6-10-4-14) who, after having led the ranking for a long time, had to settle for second place and the victory among the Mixed crews.

The podium was completed by the Swiss Ikke Huber and Liam Berger (10-3-10-4) while the Danes Nicklas Holt and Carl Emil Sloth (3-7-6-13) stopped just one point from third place, followed by the German brothers Lucas and Moritz Hamm (2-9-14-34).

The best female crew was that formed by Victoria Papin and Jouan Tsippora (26-21-9-27), who closed the series organized by Fraglia Vela Riva in seventeenth position.

An unexpected decline, however, for the Hungarians Soma Kis-Szölgyémi and András Sámuel Juhász (4-14-15-26), whose performance, which was declining, was worth sixth place in the end. Not bad for the Hungarian couple, who consoled themselves by taking the win in the seasonal ranking. Drawn up by the International 29er Class Association, the overall ranking of the circuit includes over two hundred and fifty crews and takes into account the four best placings obtained by participating in the thirteen events on the calendar. A result that was never in doubt during the entire span of the 29er Eurocup Finals, achieved by winning the third and twelfth stages and collecting other important placings.

Second in the circuit were the aforementioned Hamm brothers, best among the Under 17s, while the bronze went to the Swiss Huber-Berger.

Great satisfaction for Victoria Demurtas and Caroline Karlsen: the two athletes from Fraglia Vela Riva in fact ranked sixth overall and established themselves as the best female crew with a wide margin over the Hungarians Boroka and Szonja Feher, who finished in twelfth place in the ranking.

Still in the women’s field, recognition also for the best Under 17 women’s team, composed of the Swiss Malena Ruegge and Lu Wicki, who came seventeenth overall.

The Swedish Hard-Wolfgang won among the mixed.

With the conclusion of the 29er Eurocup Finals, the Fraglia Vela Riva season is coming to an end: next weekend the Stars will take the stage with the Big 3 Act 3.
