The 2025 29er European Championship will be held at Fraglia Vela Riva
Riva del Garda – The 2025 European Championship 29er will take place at the Fraglia Vela Riva, a major event reserved for this dynamic youth double, preparatory to the transition to any area of “adult” sailing, which will lead to the upper Benaco beyond two hundred and fifty crews representing over twenty nations, proving the widespread use of this skiff.
Scheduled for the beginning of July, the event will put the organizational machinery of the Riva association to the test as it will find itself having to manage three regatta courses at the same time: many will in fact be necessary to guarantee the correct carrying out of the qualifying tests and, follow, of those reserved for the Gold, Silver and Bronze fleets.
The choice of the International 29er Class Association was not a surprise: for several seasons, in fact, Fraglia Vela Riva has hosted the closing event of the Ovington 29er EuroCup.
“Fraglia Vela Riva is proud of the choice made by the International 29er Class Association, which confirms the quality of the work carried out over the last few seasons in favor of this exciting double, unique in terms of spectacularity and training aspects. As always happens on the occasion of the World and European Championships, we expect the usual, peaceful, invasion of international sailors” commented Andrea Camin, president of Fraglia Vela Riva.
“Without a doubt, a great challenge awaits us from an organizational point of view: on the occasion of the Garda Optimist Meeting we are used to managing two courses at the same time, while there are fewer events that require three different regatta courses. It is a challenge that we accept with enthusiasm, aware that the time available, and the experience of our team, will be the resources that will allow us to deliver an unforgettable event to sailors” added Ciro Giampiero Mercurio, Regatta Manager of Fraglia Vela Riva,
