The winner of the Sprint Race Rothoblaas is Andrea Demurtas’s: the young Fraglia Vela Rivas talent wins the opening event of the 43rd Garda Optimist Meeting
Riva del Garda – Andrea Demurtas is the winner of the first edition of the Rothoblaas Sprint Race, an innovative event proposed by Fraglia Vela Riva as the opening of the Garda Optimist Meeting, whose 43rd edition will take place between Thursday and Sunday.
The young talent from Fraglia, in the spotlight a few days ago at the Pima Selezione Nazionale di Marina di Ravenna, confirmed his excellent form by winning the knockout series held on Saturday. A program that, with some new regulations, should have been repeated today, cancelled due to the total absence of wind. A decision that made the ranking final at the end of the first day, awarding Andrea Demurtas the prestigious trophy created specifically for this dynamic, fast and high-impact event.
On the podium were Jesper Karlsen, another representative of Fraglia Vela Riva, who finished second, and the British Isla Hutchinson, who ranked first among the girls.
During the award ceremony, attended by the president of the Riva association Andrea Camin, by several members of the Fraglia Vela Riva board, by the Technical Director of the National Optimist Marcello Meringolo and by the Race Officers Andrea Gatta and Elisa D’Ippolito, Fabrizio Toselli of Rothoblaas, partner of the regatta, spoke and declared: “As a partner of Fraglia Vela Riva, Rothoblaas enthusiastically welcomed the proposal to associate its brand with a regatta with a dynamic and innovative format like the Sprint Race, characteristics that fully embody our corporate DNA”.
Now that the Rothoblaas Sprint Race is over, attention now shifts to the Country Cup, now in its eleventh edition and scheduled for Wednesday 16 April, which will be followed by the Opening Ceremony of the 43rd Garda Optimist Meeting.
